I'll bet the White House won't be talking much about Jesse Jackson's comment.
"Saddam's heinous crimes against humanity can never be diminished, but he was our ally while he was doing it," he said Friday. "Saddam as a war trophy only deepens the catastrophe to which we are indelibly linked."

It is much, much easier for them to continue to portray Jackson as an irrelevant buffoon.

17. and that is what is so frustrating about the last 6 years
even the the Democrats should never had voted for the IWR, when bush violated its terms it was their obligation to do something about it, and they didn't

I am not particularly optomistic that they will be any more courageous when the take over, but I have no doubt it would be much worse if we lost in 2006

20. I'm not at all optimistic. I didn't see nearly enough "NO" votes from those
Dems in 6 damn years. Whether in the minority or majority, "No" means No. It stands on the record and it stands for your principles.

Democrats are responsible for letting Bush ruin AmeriKa with war, torture, tax cuts, and a fake drug program.

52. Only SOME Democrats voted FOR the IRW.
It is unfair to condemn the whole Democratic Party for the actions of the Pro-War minority. This is a meme perpetuated by the bush* administration, the lap dog media, and the Corporate owned Democrats.

14. The Brit govt. also show's it's double standards
"We oppose the death penalty in all cases, regardless of the individual or the crime," said Rob Tinline, spokesman for the British Foreign Office. "(But) it's an Iraqi trial, with Iraqi defendants, in an Iraqi court — it's a decision for the Iraqi authorities."

It's a decision for the Iraqi authorities - but only a week ago British forces attacked an Iraqi police station:

"BAGHDAD, Dec. 25 — Hundreds of British and Iraqi soldiers assaulted a police station in the southern city of Basra today, killing seven gunmen, rescuing 127 prisoners from what the British said was almost certain execution and ultimately reducing the facility to rubble."

Iraq authorities is a term that can be used indiscriminatedly, at will, at opportunity - meaning: "The Iraqis that do what WE want them to do".

They embraced Saddam AFTER he used the weapons we sold him on his own people. Now we have seen to it that he has been killed for doing these actions, even if we let it slide all those years ago (when the REPUBLICANS were in the White House). Nice attempt at projecting, but YOU and YOUR FRIENDS own this one lock, stock, and shock and awe!
