Some final thoughts to finish out the year
It's funny. We all knew there was a good chance the Democrats would retake the House and possibly the Senate but when it actually happened we were still surprised. I guess we've been so used to defeat after defeat for nearly this entire decade that an actual victory for us was unbelievable.

It only took six years but the public has finally gotten fed up with George Bush's bullshit. They're sick and tired of being called unpatriotic and anti-American by Bush and his little cohorts for simply daring to criticize this administration. They're over Bush gutting our Constitution and having to observe a Republican House and Senate not do a damn thing to stop him. They've grown weary of Republican corruption and an endless war in Iraq which has now cost more lives than the 9/11 attacks. They've seen what has been happening to their country and they sure as hell don't like it.

These last six years have been some of the hardest to get through. It's very depressing to see how optimistic we were at the start of the 21st Century as Clinton's term came to a close and the sorry-ass state we're in now. For six horrible years we've had to sit idly by as filth like Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Rice turn our country into an unrecognizable mess. But 2007 may be the year this disgraceful, disgusting chapter in American history finally comes to a close.

Bush, Cheney, and the rest have to go. This country won't be able to stand another two years of these asshole's rule. There is also the little matter of the clear number of impeacable offenses these scumbags have committed. Bush took an oath to defend the Constitution and has shown time and time again that he is not interested in following that oath. The time has come for him finally pay the price for the all the harm he has done to this country. Unfortunately, our new Democratic Congress doesn't seem too enthusiastic to do their jobs and start the impeachment process. We may have to motivate them.

If all goes well, we'll have a new president and vice president by this time next year. We have to at least try because doing nothing is no option at all.

1. "a new president and vice president by this time next year"
Thanks. Just reading those words - even as a hypothetical - made my day.

2. It wasn't defeat we got used to, it was voter fraud.

With all of Dick's talk about pardons, do you think there's a chance the chimp might "decide" to resign at the last minute?
