3. How was Katrina a "political play?"
I realize that what Brownie did (or didn't do, more accurately) with FEMA was political - but it certainly wasn't the BEST.

I voted for the Dems forcing the GOP hand. Now THAT was a political play. ;)

(Not fussing atcha proud - just wondering, honestly, how a natural disaster is a political play).

6. If anybody thinks Katrina was a good political play....
..what they are really saying is

"I support killing niggers, creoles, cajuns, and poor honkeys wholesale."

8. It has been asserted that the government knew the levees would
break eventually, or they helped break it and/or Bush purposely ignored Katrina and let the poor die.

I'm not into conspiracy theories but when they worst natural disaster in history hits the US and the president responds by golfing you've got a very hard time explaining it in rational words.

14. That's why I didn't vote for Katrina
But I think if bush goes down, it will be largely due to Katrina and the way he fucked up with the response.

I see both Cindy and Katrina as the beginning of the end of dubya.

5. Play, or Ploy?
There have been lots of each this year (and probably EVERY year). I am sick of politics being reported as a "game", with 'plays'..

People go hungry, miss out on health care, lose jobs and homes as a result of these "plays".

17. I think that was the option "Dems force GOP hand"
but I think that, combined with John Murtha's proposal and criticism of the administration were both extremely important.

20. that was "Dems force GOP hand" option...
That was the one I picked. Iraq is not a 'policitcal play"neither is Katrina or Cindy..

It was a stupid, badly written question.

21. Agree! Harry's Senate Shutdown was a BIG deal
The poll option of Dems forcing Repub hands over the Iraq/Murtha resolution wasn't a political ploy by Dems. It was a reaction to a dirty Repub trick.

Harry needs credit for planning and carrying out a smart political move.

But, I think it is disgusting that any of these are considered "political plays".
To me that's the trouble today, everything is treated like a damn game. This is our country and it citizens, not some damn game.

Most of these can not be seen as any "play". Tweety will never consider anything against dubco as good.
Oh wait, there is nothing good for b*shie there, is there?
