Everybody from Pat Robertson to Average Joes are predicting terror attack in 2007
Who do you think the perpetrators will be?

My guess is that if there is a terrorist attack this year, the perpetrators will NOT be Al Qaeda or other Islamic Terrorists.

What do you think will happen?

3. Experts predict 6 named terrorist attacks this season
Didn't "everyone" predict terrorist attacks in 2006 as well?
Terrorist attack predicting is a lot like hurricane forecasting - it's a safe bet to say that we will have one, but nobody really knows for sure.

4. Whaaaa? The "One Percent Doctrine" isn't keeping us completely safe?
I'm shocked! The war in Iraq isn't drawing all the terrorists in not letting them out like a roach motel? Befuddled I am. Befuddled. Next you'll tell me that New Orleans isn't rebuilt yet!

5. Fear, my dear is a great motivator. They have not given up. They
also believe what they are saying because their god cannot return without all their little scares happening. It is really pitiful. If there is an attack it will be on the one they blame for the ME mess because I think we the people do not want this war.

6. Probably Shi'ites
I'm going to guess Hezbollah. It will be, again, low-tech and high-concept. Like, 20 gunmen in the town squares of 20 "heartland" medium-sized cities, or mass anthrax mailings, or snipers in NYC, DC, LA, and Chicago

7. Ok, here's that damn screwed up librul
thinking......I thought we were 'fighting them over there so we won't have to fight them over here.'

Did this crazy librul miss something again......?????

Of course there will be an attack, with popularity in the low 30's to high 20's, what the heck do you think? He thinks he pulled it off once and will do so again so he can stand on a pile of rubble with a bull horn in his flight suit with his chainsaw in the other hand and his lopey grin and be 'sumbody' again. I think he needs another coke and Jack.

And how the hell can they 'predict' these attacks now? I guess my convoluted thinking asks....well, why didn't they 'predict' 9/11??? Just wondering.

10. Can someone explain why there has not been an IED explosion in the US?
This cheap common way of planting bombs on highways. Homeland security could not stop this. It is not terrorism on a grand scale, but the cheap way that is going on in Iraq. But yet in America with huge Muslim population, there has not been "one" incident that I know of.

Why? It is not expensive, does not involve airline security, and there are miles and miles of unattended highway to do it.

Been trying to figure out why if the terror threat is this massive?

Any ideas?

12. I mean SINCE Oklahoma City. Roadside bombs.
It just seems strange that so many roadside bombs in Iraq. Logically, if terrorists wanted to contunue the safest course of terrorism in the US, wouldn't setting up roadside bombs be the optimal weapon of cost as it has been in the violence in Iraq?

Oklahoma City was 11 years ago.

Again, anyone hear of anything like this along an interstate highway or city? Or even one found non-detonated?

15. Lucky? There are at least 2.5 million Muslims in America....
Edited on Tue Jan-02-07 09:23 PM by EndElectoral
One wonders when there has not been one IED in the US since Iraq began, yet the IED has been the most successful weapon of insurgents.

It begs how big is the terrorist threat when not one foreign terrorist has ever successfully planted an IED in the US.

Perhaps FDR is right. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

If the terrorists are incapable of planting one IED on a highway in 11 years how serious is the threat? There have been bombings in Madrid, England, yet nothing here. It makes me wonder. Not even one IED with all our fears of border control and immgiraiton. not one with 2.5 to 7 million Muslims in America.

Not one IED. Think about it. Why?

A lot of the fear mongering is just that. Yes, there will be suicide bombers and roadside bombs, just hasn't happened yet. Fear of flying made safe by the bs stuff they have in place is crap. Is the question how big is the foreign terrorist threat since that is a different question than why have there been no suicide bombers/roadside bombs. You say no IEDs in 11 yrs. There have been several cases of homegrown USA terrorist bombing groups who have been stopped over the last bit but little media coverage because we are supposed to be afraid of "them" over "there" to keep the War Machine busy making money.

Edited to add, why do you expect this from Muslims? Seriously, why?

I don't believe there will be an attack. But if there is I can safely say that it will be blamed on the Democrats. See the Republicans have been keeping us safe all this time, now that they lost some power it will be all the Dems fault. Or maybe they'll blame The Clenis..
