Speaking of hangings.... - which dems shall we hang this year (metaphorically)?
Will it be Hillary and her baggage and image? Obama and his inexperience? Dennis and his 'not ready for Joe six Pack' view we hold of him? Edwards and his pretty boy image (rich and IWR vote)? Clark and his military past? Someone else?

As we pass people along into the trial of our courts here, whom will we hang and why?

Which candidate, if any, is perfect? Which do we think will most radically change things the way we desire, and which do we see as a business as usual candidate who will whore themselves out for corporate interests?

Truth be told - I don't think we want to hang anyone. But in the end, a noose will be thrown around the neck of some and they will be hung out to dry; all because they don't fit our perfect model of a candidate.

I got problems, issues if you will, with ALL of our prospective candidates. But I value them all and see how much better they can be than what we have.

I don't want to do the RW's work. I want to focus on what they say Today - and where they want to take us tomorrow. They have all had imperfections and failings. But that does not mean they have not learned from them.

I personally like Hillary the least - but I damned sure love her a lot more than any asshole the right can toss out - and I can find a lot more positive with her than any of them.

No - I am not saying we should not discuss the pros and cons of a candidate. We MUST. That is how we make progress. That is how we win and keep em honest, and keep a fire under their feet.

I am saying though - let's try not to take it personal, or make it personal.

Let's not hang out folks out to dry. We have a chance to take America back, and make it better. It will be a long battle, and some in our camp WILL let us down. But then, they are still in our tent - and we need to guide them more than slam them.

It is a harsh political world in DC. Not like here on our little internet board. They are gonna make mistakes, they will play the game, but in the end - I think they will listen to us if we approach it all in the right way - and let them know we are here for them, even if they have not been perfect.

Take the noose from around the neck, and cut it off. Toss it to the side. We don't need to hang anyone. We can discuss issues without trying to hang those we don't prefer.

There is none, not one, we cannot find a fault with. But they are the ones out there putting their lives in the public eye and facing the storm each day. They may well make the wrong choice here and there, but instead of a noose they need a life line - something to let them know that we are out here and pulling for them.

And also something to let them know we are watching them and expecting more out of them.

We employ them - we pay them. We expect results. But we also should know when to see that they have learned from their mistakes and are willing to fix them.

I now realize it was a blood lust on my part, but that old sinking feeling that continuity ,and not accountability, will give Shrub more reason to harbor megalomaniac ideation

2. Edwards will hang. Obama will succeed.
Edwards did absolutely nothing running for President last time. Lost the candidacy, didn't carry a single state in the general election. That's why he knows it's now or never for him after his abysmal performance in attempting to carry the South. And it won't work. He looks like he's trying too hard. When he was in New Orleans it looked like he just flew in, grabbed the shovel and moved dirt for no apparent reason, gathered the poor Katrina kids behind him to clap, and left.

Obama will succeed by elimination. He was the only one who opposed the war, which counts for a lot. Hillary will try to use money but I don't think can win the needed primaries, although the massive $$$ will help. But she has presented no charisma and when she tries it shows. Too many gaffes: the one about my generation not working hard enough, and the one about the foreign taxi guy. Really she isn't a very good speaker with that shrill "mommy knows best" tone.

Edwards is a retread. Vilsack has no speaking ability and is a nobody. Kucinich has a good heart but some ideas that aren't going to be accepted. It has to be Obama. And after reading part of his book, looking at his bio (Harvard law review prez- my dad was very impressed), and seeing his charisma and charm even to religious types, it will be him. In fact, he is charismatic/intelligent enough to realize the "no experience" argument actually works in his favor in this era of dirty politics.

6. Ok, my hands are out.
Which ever one is plumpest and you pick Obama? Man are you wrong. That man is thinner than any of the others, except maybe Dennis. There would have to be a measurement between the two for who is thinnest.

8. (squint) And he's not as young as I thought either.
Although, if I let him marinade long enough, he might just be tolerable.

And thank ye kindly but no thanks on yer arms there. I like me Dems seasoned by the national spotlight.

Now let me see... paprika... basil... a couple o' boullion cubes... some Emeril bam-b-q sauce... BAM...

Okay, I'm ready to eat our own.

9. LOL
I'm not sure what you mean by "no thanks on yer arms there." But just in case I'm not just having a senior moment and understand you correctly. My comment on having my hands out, referred to an earlier post by me where I said I was sitting on my hands, which meant I was saying nothing about no one.B-)

7. Be kind to politicians day?
"History has tried hard to teach us that we can't have good government under politicians. Now, to go and stick one at the very head of the government couldn't be wise." - Mark Twain
