and I always think about the Edwards losing Wade, and just how horrible that had to be for them. It's probably the worst thing anyone can endure. But they stood together and made it through.

I'm so sorry. I agree, Elizabeth Edwards has set an example of dignity, strength, faith and courage in many regards.

WTF is up with people on this site who get off on attacking her? She's a wonderful person, with such impressive accomplishments, and by EVERY measure a great heart.

virus and infection over the past month. My daughter is in the last year of a 5-year accounting course in college, got her first "real" job....and the kids have been sick ever since. lol

She has been through many trials of life, more than many of us will ever really understand. I respect her deeply and think she would represent this country better than any other First Lady in a very very long time.

Have you read The Health of Nations: Why Inequality is Harmful to Your Health by Ichiro Kawachi and Bruce P. Kennedy.

Things you said in your CBS commentary reminded me of this book, which is one of the best books I've read on public policy in the last couple years.

I admire Elizabeth Edwards, a beautiful woman inside and out.

help but contrast her warmth, openness and intelligence with Laura Bush's aloofness, and simplistic parroting of right-wing talking points. Elizabeth Edwards is a breath of fresh air. I hope we see and hear more from her in the future.

Laura has always impressed me as becoming involved for purely political purposes, that her heart isn't really in it. Remember the thing with gangs, whatever it was? That didn't go very far, did it?

Elizabeth is dynamic, whereas Laura is passive. Like bush said, Laura is a lump.

I haven't warmed up to John Edwards yet, but I'm working on it. I think the 2004 campaign rounded him out a little better. Being unyoked from John Kerry also lets him establish his own presence and presidential identity.

If Edwards wins the nomination, I'll support him wholeheartedly, not just because of him, but because Ms. Edwards would be the finest First Lady probably to ever grace the White House.

Graceful under pressure, kind, intelligent, incredibly strong... I'm a big fan.
