I don't agree with all Cindy's tactics, but I believe her to be sincere and honest.

I guess I can give some highlights: she treated lots of people (DUers included) very very poorly when they were working for her or when they were working on similar projects to hers. She got kicked off DU over and over, and then after the election, she publicly and heartlessly fired a DUer who worked with her (Andy Stephenson) who then became very sick with cancer. She then claimed he was lying (even to the point of getting PayPal to believe his medical fund a fraud). Then he died, and she proceeded to post on Free Republic and say rotten things about him.

and I see mostly good things coming out of her over the past few years. She never said anything bad about Andy to me, and I've gotten plenty of email from her over the years. I know there were differences between them but she kept quiet about the problems. She also said they made up. I seem to remember her also raising money for him. I'm sure of it.

So... are you guys being totally honest? Really. I wonder about this.

Bev has done many things, all of varying degrees of social acceptability, but one thing she did not do is raise money for Andy.

I would suggest you investigate that before you post anything more regarding the subject. It can be a very sore point in these parts, since many of us miss Andy greatly and have chronic aches in our hearts over his loss. Plus we know the facts.

Not only did she NOT raise any money for him (it was done by DUers), she did not deposit the taxes she withheld from his paychecks, making him unable to file for his tax refund of HIS OWN money when he needed it.

I would make a point of reviewing the evidence before you make allegations that we are not being "totally honest". That kind of accusation really tends to piss off her victims.

ASK to see the current tax forms showing that she did. Her most recent (second and current) 990 indicates that she did NOT. Nope, it indicates that no such donation was ever made. What do ya make of that?

However there are many of us who have been around for a very long time -and watched the various blowups between BH and a number of different DUers who worked with her for a time. A pattern of turning on others emerged, even before the very disturbing turning on Andy (and later, after the turning, the adding fuel to the fire of "doubt" for the worst of the freepers who set up a website, during his illness, to "debunk" and try to end all aid to Andy - a website and ugly gang that never, to my knowledge, expressed any remorse when Andy's illness took his life. Her posting on Free Republic egged that behavior on. Yep - none of us watched and read those episodes unfold - it is all the doing of a "few DUers" who are discrediting her :eyes:

...but didn't realize it was Bev Harris behind it all. At one point I thought she was doing important work, but in retrospect she just seems delusional and mentally ill. Good riddance to her.

That said, I don't think that she was active in creating, participating or maintiaing that vile site. Though during her time in freeperville, she only stoked the "Andy's Scamming" - including her beliefs that he was healthy and his claims of illness were false - rather than ever speaking up him and calling out the vile speculation (which led to some (not known who - but among that crowd) who froze up the paypal account in an attempt to prevent Andy from receiving the donated funds needed to proceed with treatment at Johns Hopkins.

We can "get" her much more easily by just telling the truth about her horrendous and at times probably criminal behavior. :evilgrin:

behavior (now being shown on HBO) that should have been turned over to a) law enforcement, and b) the Kerry team of lawyers to give them "proof" that there was fraud being perpetrated in Florida, which would have helped open the entire can of worms in 2004. The fact that this evidence was being BEGGED FOR by prominent people at the time who could have used it to MAKE A DIFFERENCE (and possibly keep Junior out of office for his second term) makes her a co-conspirator, in my Not So Humble Opinion.

She and her group are not able to prosecute (nor do I expect them to) election fraud, but she deliberately withheld evidence and I know that because I was on the phone with her "team" near daily during that time. (Yes, there are Kinkos in Florida.) But actually getting prosecution in place for election fraud would apparently lose her an opportunity to get "free money" from other people.

Don't even get me started on New Hampshire. Or Andy's medical treatment.

She is a scam artist, and has little credibility amongst the folks who are actually DOING SOMETHING to establish Clean Elections.
