Fox News reporter says Bush admitted using cocaine
As political media buzzed about whether or not Senator Barack Obama's admission eleven years ago that he used cocaine as a teenager would hurt his political prospects, Fox News ran a segment on "Obama's Cocaine Confession."

Their conversation took an unusual turn, however, when Fox reporter Kirian Chetry said President Bush had also admitted to using cocaine.

Obama "talks very candidly, as did our current president, who admitted to using cocaine, correct? Well, who wrote, somebody wrote in a book -- well, he admitted that he had an alcoholic, he had a drinking problem. Who was it who said they witnessed him using cocaine? It was somebody who wrote a book..."

1. W could have admitted to rape, robbery, and murder
and his core "stupid" would still back him. You're talking about the W cult here.

6. Yep. As long as he didn't put anyone pro-choice on the Supreme Court.

and especially if he's still making blathering, semi-coherent noise about how schools should teach "both sides" of the evolution "Debate" in schools, the Jesus-drunk base would still walk barefoot over burning NASCAR tires to vote for the guy.

17. claims that George W. Bush was arrested for cocaine possession in 1972
Oct. 18, 1999 | A new book by Texas author J.H. Hatfield claims that George W. Bush was arrested for cocaine possession in 1972, but had his record expunged with help from his family's political connections. In an afterword to his book "Fortunate Son: George W. Bush and the Making of an American President" (St. Martin's)

Bush Took Cocaine at Camp David

London Mirror | September 7 2004

GEORGE W Bush snorted cocaine at Camp David, a new book claims.

His wife Laura also allegedly tried cannabis in her youth.

Author Kitty Kelley says in her biography The Family: The Real Story of the Bush Dynasty, that the US President first used coke at university in the mid-1960s.

She quotes his former sister-in-law Sharon Bush who claims: "Bush did coke at Camp David when his father was President, and not just once either."

19. Bush ' would not answer the question.'
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=1057331

NPR's Elizabeth Arnold reports the question about whether or not Texas Governor George W. Bush has ever used cocaine is continuing to dog his campaign. It seems like the question greets the Republican presidential front-runner wherever he goes. Yesterday, at a press conference in Austin, Bush said he would refuse to play the game and thus would not answer the question. Today he said he has not done drugs in the past 15 years.

2. Funny, but from what I gather..
This hurts Jr. more than Obama. Many have brought up Jr.s hiding and lying about his drug use and it's being revisited. However, from what I've seen, it did not do Obama any damage as he full on said so for anyone to see for the past 11 years. Nothing to hide and no one cares. But, jr.s lying is what everyone is discussing.

3. There's also another BIG difference...
...Obama actually WAS a youth at the time. Bush was well past the age he could use harmonal changes as an excuse for bad behavior. Hell, he'd still be using that excuse today if he could.

4. Obama rocks!
at least he owns up to having a good time with youthful experimentation. Bush lies and obfuscates...

First he refused to confirm or deny it. Later he would say only that "when I was young and irresponsible, I was young and irresponsible." Next he said that the issue wasn't relevant. Then he said that he wouldn't address "rumors." Then he said that he could pass a standard security check dating back seven years. Finally, he said that he could've passed the security check in his father's White House -- fifteen years. Though he had to think before specifying whether he could've passed it then or now. Now, no matter what he says, the issue seems destined to dog him until the day he comes clean.

The non-violent "youthful indiscretions" of yesteryear are today punishable with unjust mandatory minimum sentences and terrifying ordeals of prison rape and violence. Add to that the denial of an education to a population that can benefit the most from it and you have a serious social catastrophe in the works. The American people should demand that George W. Bush come clean, regardless of whether or not he used cocaine in the first place. In any case, it would be wise for the next president, whoever it may be, to steer us away from the iceberg of a continuous and unwinnable war on drugs.

12. Obama smokes? Then he's on my list ...
... of "People who are Worse than Saddam!"

I fully expect CNN investigators to find this "Obama" character somewhere in Tora-Bora or the tribal regions of Pakistan. He'll get his moment of justice on YouTube.

9. BUSH 'TOOK COCAINE AT CAMP DAVID'
And wife Laura liked dope, says book

She quotes his former sister-in-law Sharon Bush who claims: "Bush did coke at Camp David when his father was President, and not just once either."

Other acquaintances allege that as a 26-year-old National Guard, Bush "liked to sneak out back for a joint or into the bathroom for a line of cocaine".

10. Didn't he say he hadn't done anything since 1978?
Or something to that effect. Not officially admitting it, but the implication was that he did take coke before that time? I'm not sure if '78 is the correct year, or it could have been '74 or '81 for all I recall.

20. Rich People don't need to buy illegal drugs
unless they choose to. Most just go to their doctor and request the latest boutique mind altering substance.

Perhaps he was just trying to 'connect' with his base.
