In Spite Of Conservative Ranters, Broad Majority Of Americans Support "Liberal Ideas"
Click here to read the whole story and some timely poll information.

<snip>

Just because these yahoos say they represent "mainstream" values doesn't mean anyone has to believe them. Americans just need to know the facts, and frame the subject accordingly.

A new poll from CNN helps. It gives more strong evidence that the "liberal" ideas mocked by conservatives are, in fact, mainstream views. In issue after issue, Americans are siding with Pelosi, Obama, Feinstein and the rest, and not George W. Bush or his conservative Congressional counterparts.

1. One can only hope
that most Democratic leaders do not fall for the propaganda that the citizens don't want "crazy left, liberal ideas".
Liberal values ARE mainstream values.
RJK Jr. has mentioned on his radio show many times that when he goes around the country giving speeches, that
many supposedly "conservative" people are surprised to find out that liberal values are very much their own values -- they just didn't know what the definition was because it had been framed for them by the corporate media and right-wing hate radio.

3. 54% opposed to pay/go?
I think I'll watch for results of another poll before I consider that gospel. And an even 49% split in favor of/opposed to reducing some federal tax breaks for oil companies?

All the rest of the poll looks like they surveyed the America I used to know. I sure hope to see more of that.

4. "Liberal Ideas" are for the greater good of and include ALL people...........
Conservatives and neocons hate "Liberal Ideas" because THEY believe the greater good is ONLY for THEM and NOT OTHERS.

5. only if people start believing they are mainstream ideas
If the MSM and the conservative ranters frame these as "liberal," its less likely that Congressional Democrats will fight for them, or that the American people will demand them.

9. Anyone can call themselves the "moral majority."
That doesn't make it true at all.
