7. 228 to 199, 8 not (yet) voting. It seems the effective Dem margin is 29 votes.
I tend to wonder whether that's the "cushion" we'll be able to use as a rule-of-thumb for the next two years.

8. That seems to be the same (or a little larger) as the Repugs' majority
before. They had around the same number so we'll be fine.
