WP: Republican advisers have been telling the White House to be ready for war

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/01/04/AR2007010400778.html

<snip>

Republican advisers have been telling the White House to be ready for war, and many cited Miers as the wrong general. "The White House knew they needed to get a tough street fighter -- that's what this is about," said one such adviser, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to preserve access to the White House.

7. They've been lawyering up since the election
As soon as it was clear that the Dems would be the majority they began reinforcing the ranks. Bush himself created at least 5,000 of those new jobs in the last two months of the year with all of the hiring they've done on the WH Legal Counsel. LOL!

8. High Anxiety Republicans.
They must have learned a long time ago, that fear was the best way to get a large number of people to be pliable enough to do heinous things.
