Yikes ! These spooks in CIA, FBI, and NSA are scary !
Watching the open hearing from the Intelligence Committee, it appears everyone being questioned is in cahoots with the White House in covering up information, not only to the American people, but to the Congress as well. All the tough questions were put off to "closed session". We will never know what the answers will be or what type of fights might break out in the "closed session". No doubt, they will attempt to use fear and intimidation on the Senators that question too closely. Negroponte is one scary dude. And Bush and Cheney, using Roberts to control the information and keep it within their tiny circle, is very scary. These people have been doing some unimaginable spying on all of us, outside the boundaries of the law, it seems to me.

2. Just to Clarify,
the people in the hearing are Bush's hand-picked neocon appointees at the top of the organization. The rank-and-file spooks are a different animal all together. Many of them are quite unhappy with Bush.

4. Yup. Otherwise there would have been no need to purge the
CIA when Goff took over. And because of the disclosure rules, it will be years, if ever, before those purged can address the reasons for it.

Why, it's even a democracy..sort of..if you call a government run by the wealthy and powerful a democracy.

5. The Dems asked very pointed and focused questions. The
Republicans filled their time with moans, anger at Dems anger at leakers, praise of the criminals sitting at that table, support of theirvery right wing agenda. Roberts is a disgrace to humanity because he knows everything (as much as those at the table know?) and is hell bent on keepting it close and miles away from Rockefeller. It's obvious. He is a mean creature.
