Maybe we could get Bush to get on a white horse and do the hero thing and go in first? Hard to believe that he is making the pick on things when he could not even pass his flying medical test plus was drunk when he learned anything military. I know we do not need to have a Gen. in the white house but I feel bad that a man who thinks he knows it all is trying to run things. My first thought was along realistic lines, as in what this administration might actually decide to use to make their propaganda statement. I came up with Operation Sure Victory.

But then we know they like to use the word "freedom" in their recents ops titles, so it might be something like Operation Freedom Stronghold, indicating their intent to establish a longterm U.S. military presence in a fortress-like base there in Iraq.

Of all the good titles offered in this thread, I agree with Operation Clusterfuck if we're gonna tell it like it is!

It seems to me I saw something like that on the History Channel or somewhere. A computer generates the first letters (like "D" and "S") and the brass turn it into a name (like "Desert Storm"). Maybe I was just high.

Generally there are a bunch of possible operation names or parts of operation names given to a computer and it makes a more-or-less random choice among them with some parameters.

An operation name needs to be vaguely strong and menacing (nobody wants to say their son died in "Operation Dandelion"), but not reveal anything about the nature of the operation (don't call it "Operation Pretend to Invade Calais While Actually Invading Normandy").
