I'm out on a tractor, but had to jump off and post this thought that has been going through my head.
I think I know what has happened to our Democratic leaders. Why they didn't fillibuster. Why they didn't scream when George and Dick held hands at the 9/11 commission, and not under oath. Why a lot of things.
The 2004 election was America's chance to send this administration packing. The fact that is was not a total landslide is testament to a public that for some reason was willing to vote for Bush. There are many reasons. Fox is one. Or I should say the corporate media in general.
We know. The facts speak for themselves, and we know the facts. And there are so many, we have absolutely no doubt about what is going on.
I believe that in this country, reasoned thinking is in the minority. It is in the fringes. We here, at DU, are considered "fringe". The truth, is "fringe".
And I believe that the reason there were only two dozen Senators willing to vote against this latest nightmare of a justice, if I may say so, is that they know that the voters they represent are far less vocal, far less knowledgable, far less on the "fringe" than WE are.
It's the only thing that makes sense to me. They are representing the average American. And we are not them.
