Student Loan Interest Rate Cut? Any word on this?
Anyone seen any specifics on the rate cute? Thanks in advance. I'll be paying my loans until I am freaking 80!!

It's good news for my kids, one is in grad school and she'll owe a whopping 35K when she is out. And that's on the cheap side...

1. Only for new loans starting in 07 - I think around 4-5%.

I can't stand the new "flat rate" of 8%.

3. Interest Rates
"Democrats plan to cut student loan interest rates in half, reducing the interest rate on subsidized student loans from 6.8 percent to 3.4 percent; to restore an expired tax deduction for families paying college tuition; and to raise the limit on Pell grants from $4,050 a year to $5,100 a year."
