Do you feel it's true people are not agaist the war but we are not winning ?

This is what I have been hearing that even dems feel this way . It is not the wrong of it but the fact we are not winning that make Iraq so much the issue ?

I feel it's wrong period not whether we win or not .

some who were for it at the beginning and now that it is such a debacle & as you say not winning, they are now against it.

...how we've been lied to, or they do know and just don't care. They simply see a mess and are tired of it. It disgusts and infuriates me.

acted pre-emptively and started a war with a country that did not do a thing to us. I am from the old school, try talking first before blowing people up.

in the streets the days before the war began knowing it was wrong. Many opposed before and always have been opposed. We weren't allowed to see the evidence the govt said it had. BTW when we watched the evening news the number of protesters was always way under reported plus we were called unpatriotic at best and full on Osama lovers at worst. Yes, that's right, I wanna give Osama warm milk and cookies and read him a bedtime story. Iraq = Osama? We didn't see how.

But it didn't, and lots of soldiers and civilians have died.

If the impossible dream of Bush and his cronies had happened, i.e. flower strewn soldiers welcomed by cheering Iraqis, the grateful acceptance of American domination, an endless supply of cheap oil, and a raft of babies named Dubya in Baghdad, the American populace would be singing his praises and demanding a 3rd term.

Things, as foreseen by most of the world, did not turn out that way and the people are pissed off at the obvious failure and cost of a hare-brained scheme that they bought into.

We all know corporations have more and more control over our lives, but we still get some money out of it, so there's no uprising.

We all know the government has been, is, and will continue to improve on ways to gather information on everyone, but we don't have a boot stomping on our faces, so we let specialized organization like the ACLU figure out what to do.

If we got something from the war, the consumers would be alright with it.

I wouldn't, but then I don't think large scale nation-states should exist, since it leads to specialization, which distances all of us from any real say, and so we end up with a military budget bigger than all others combined, agents of the state(standing army) that at the drop of a hat will do whatever they're told by their superiors, superiors period, and increasingly complex solutions for problems with no solution.

We are losing because we are wrong.

If we had gone in and done for Iraq what we did for Japan, we would have won. But we went in with a neocon jack off plan that was wrong. That is why we are losing.

True the reasons we went in were nothing but lies. But even with the lies, if we had restored Iraq to a civil and controlled society, we could have considered the war was won. Instead because of the stupid ass neocon ridiculous economic plans we created a civil war. Should have stuck with what worked before.

We are wrong and that is why we are losing.

And I think that many would not be questioning it if we were NOT losing the war.

Fact is, we're losing the war that was immoral and wrong to begin with. And now the public is waking up to that fact.
