30. He's thinking of introducing a new device...
It's called uKissMyAss. Pretty interesting if you ask me, you point it at anyone walking down the street, hit a button, and they'll kiss your ass.

Oh, how I wish I had one. Oh wait, here it is. Don't make me press the button.

19. I think Cingular has a little model that's iTunes compatible...
Edited on Tue Jan-09-07 12:58 PM by HypnoToad
Still, knowing Apple, if it's not their product they're going to be underwhelming in terms of support and compatibility. May as well spend the extra dough for the 'innovation' that 2 or 3 other companies have already licensed Apple's gear for...

(and at least Windows Media is consistent all around - utter shite! :spray: )

32. The development on the ROKR was kneecapped by Apple...
They insisted on the 100 song limit for the ROKR and any future phones with iTunes for Motorola. (Motorola has since stopped putting iTunes on their phones)
The following blog piece implies that it's possible Apple intentionally did this to try to hurt the mp3/phone market in
anticipation of the release of their iPhone.

The Apple Blog]

Interesting theory. And it's something I wouldn't put past Apple (or any other major company in Apple's position).

17. I'd rather have Windows drivers for their classy Cinema monitor series...
20, 23, or 30 inches... pricey but worth every penny for professionals... except they lack drivers that fulfill a professional's NEED - the INF configuration file and ICM color space management file... oopsie; anyone who bought it for use on a PC will get good results, but the colors will only be an approximation. And $700, $1000, or $2000 is a tad much for a gaming monitor...

(though a quick google search will reveal other companies who use the same flat panel technology, offer actual Windows drivers, and *gasp* cost HALF the price... swift move, Apple, you know how to lose customers... :eyes: It's that pesky 'honey vs vinegar' argument all over again... )

I'll give Apple praise for iTunes and their generous DRM policies, but that's about it right now. :(

31. They said they wouldn't talk about Leopard until Vista shipped.
This could be a revolutionary release, or it could be a pedestrian upgrade. It's very unclear, actually.
