Gallup: 54% want COMPLETE pullout within 12 months
http://www.mediainfo.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003529401

...and 36% favor 'surge' idea. Who are these idiots? And "Almost half say that the U.S. can not meets its goals in Iraq no matter the number of troops."- some of whom must support the surge, per the poll results. WTF?

NEW YORK When President Bush speaks to the nation tomorrow night, he will announce plans for a "surge" or escalation in the number of American troops in Iraq, according to most reports.
But a new Gallup poll, taken over the past four days, finds that "the American public in general opposes the concept of an increase in troops in Iraq."

Asked directly about the idea, 36% back it and 61% oppose. Of that, only 18% "strongly" support the idea.

Gallup also notes that the same poll shows that 54% want a complete pullout within 12 months.

It mentions other polls which shown that "when given a choice between a set of alternative ways of handling the troop situation in Iraq, only about 10% of Americans opt for the alternative of increasing troops. The rest opt for withdrawal of troops either immediately, within a 12-month timeframe, or by taking as much time as needed."

2. I want complete pullout within two weeks
I think I'm being reasonable not saying immediately because I know there are logistical reasons why it may take as long as two weeks. We can start pulling out tomorrow.

9. Agreed.
Get everybody in their tanks, planes, commandeer some buses and just drive the hell back to Kuwait.

Use the mercenaries to cover our rears.

3. Gee, if we were a democracy, that'd matter.
 Instead, it's more like a Nielsen rating.

8. 36% back it - 18% "strongly" support the idea.
Those in the 18% should enlist. I promise to place on my car, a yellow ribbon, and do my share of shopping, just for you.

The gunk settles to the bottom, and it is 18%. Its a good thing breathing is an involuntary reflex, for those in the 18%. (mouth breathing, knuckle dragging, cretins.)

10. So 36% of Americans wouldn't mind having bombs dropped on them?
After all, if they wouldn't mind dropping bombs on someone they don't know, they must not mind having it done to themselves. Either that or they're shit eating flesh creatures from hell.
