First U.S. execution of 2007 taking place here in Okla at this minute.

The guy killed 4 employees in a restaurant in 1992. I'm not generally in favor of capital punishment but I won't shed any tears for this one. http://www.kotv.com

execution, the trend in the U.S. is away from capital punishment. Americans are now evenly split between life in prison without parole and execution. Even this right wing Supreme Court has made a couple of rulings against capital punishment, and is considering more cases.

It's not that I really feel bad for the murderer. I just think it's best for society not to have a DP.

My family has it written that we do not want the state to seek the death penalty if the situation should ever arise.
