What will be the eventual fate of Iraq's Sunni population?
No matter whether we manage a immediate withdrawl, or Bush gets his surge the eventual outcome is going to be the Shiite domination of Iraq's government. When this happens what will be the result for the Sunni population? Will they submit to Shiite rule? Will we be looking at another genocide?

1. I don't know, but it will be damned ugly, I fear.

2. That's what I fear.
I personally think we are going to see some heavy duty ethnic cleansing go on in a few years. I just hope as many as possible can get out of there in time.

3. a sunni/shiite mixture is common in other mideast countries?
arent there sunni's living in the shiite stronghold of iran?
im not comfortable with the way people are fast to decide they will devolve into a animal-like state. it may be that if allowed to go back to thier own way of doing these things they could find vastly more peace then with us there.

4. If
and when we withdraw from Iraq it will continue to be a battleground. Other countries will use the Iraqi as their surrogates in the fight between the two factions of the Islamic religion. Saudi Arabia and I believe Syria will throw their support behind the Sunni's. Iran will support the Shia. In other countries where both faction exist there is conflict between them. Recently, there has been vandalism commited by Sunnies against Shia busineses here in America after Saddam was hanged.
