Fascinating new concept. Ignore Cred
Seems the coolest people have no one on ignore. And I am so glad they have chosen to share that with me.

5. ya know, there is the odd occasion where i think it maybe practical
Over at the dungeon, I would be interested to see where the threads go when imaginations are allowed free rein.

6. The only people I have on ignore...
... are those who've chosen to make their attacks personal.

For example, one of them suggested my daughter might be a bitch
after she witnessed an actor being mean to another film crew member.

My ignore list has nothing to do with a difference of political opinion.

7. Why isn't there an "Ignore All" button?
Some of us feel that we deserve a little privacy.

9. I ignore threads - not people
If I find a thread offensive, I'll just hit the "X" next to it and make it go away.

I have no reason to ignore people

10. OK. I'm weird. I see it as my failure when I lose my temper
or allow someone to get me all steamed.

I control my emotions - I control how I react...so if I get so angry I feel I have to explode, then it is because I allowed it.

I can't change people...I can only change my reaction to them...so I have to become master, so to speak, of my emotions and my reactions.

So while I do hide threads...for a host of reasons...I don't ignore people because I lost control.

If someone gets under my skin, I had to let them in...sure, people will test and test and test, to see if they can "get to you", but I still feel that ultimately, I allowed it by not better controlling my own reactions and emotions. Sure, I can still think the person annoying...but that's them and their quirks...it's my reactions that are my responsibility to control.

So I laugh or completely disengage when I am too angry...and in a few days..even weeks in some cases, I talk with the same person again and we have a pleasant talk. And if I can't dialogue without snarling, then I just avoid that person by not responding to their threads. If they respond to me on mine or other threads, I am polite (most of the time)

I did once put an obvious ban troll on ignore...someone who signed on just to start flamewars and get people banned once they got all worked up and crossed the line. This person was later banned for their antics.

That said..I do have a sharp tongue and a mean side to me and I have yet to master my emotions and reactions...but I try.
