Many people still have the weekend off. DC is centrally located on the eastern seaboard and easily reached by millions of people with a few hours. We cannot wait until April.
The folks out tonight holding vigils all across america made an impact. We need to continue to make this same impact: ordinary americans of all sorts are against this war.
Almost all large demonstrations are held on weekends. If you want to organize a protest I suggest you look at how previous large protests were organized. The problem is certainly not that the media doesn't work on weekends. The problem might be that the media routinely ignores huge demonstrations, but they will do that on a Monday just as well as a saturday.
There is an antiwar demonstration on January 27 organized by United For Peace and Justice. Please come.
But it seems that ANSWER is always on hand to hijack any protest and make it an ANSWER rally for whatever pet cause they have at the moment, and it never seems to be the same thing as what the tens of thousands of marchers around them are protesting.
