The Vietnam syndrome. There is no win.
I said this was Vietnam all over again the first day, without Bob Hope to go over and entertain.

Who is going to blink first? The Democrats? Shit no, they learned the hard way with Lyndon and his famous speech. The Republicans? No, because they blame the loss of Vietnam on not aggressively fighting the North, or at least not being able to "glass" the placeby being held back by doves, hippies, and traitors.

So it's going to be a standoff. The wildcard, Mr. Monkey himself, with his neocon last dregs minions left telling him he can do it, and HAS to do it, or it will be a Vietnam that will cause people to vote Democratic for the next 50 years. He knows what is at stake. The end of the Middle East as we know it. A restructuring and purge that will make Vietnam and Cambodia look like a cake walk.

To all the "happy endings if we leave" people here....forget it. There is no happy ending. Just a period that will last say like Vietnam and it's neighboring countries collapsing and, if we are lucky a region we would not recognize today will emerge-thirty years from now; depopulated of course by mass killings radioactive waste and other horrors.

It's not going to be a happy ending. When we leave the real nighmare begins.

If Mr. Monkey wants to prove he's right, double that nightmare.

2. W already said victory in Iraq will not resemble victory in
WW11. It will resemble the victory of Vietnam.
