What does " There is nothing to fear but fear itself " mean to you now?
I hear these famous words repeated on some liberal talk shows and now I am beginning to wonder what this really means to many people in this new day and age .

2. We have to look at the whole quote. In context.
What FDR really said was, "The only thing to fear is, fear itself. And spiders. Big, hairy spiders."

Seems self-explanatory.

4. Fear makes people do stupid things.
And the party that is shouting FEAR FEAR has been doing a lot of stupid things, with the encouragement of those they have scared.

7. "Fear makes people do stupid things."
That is a brilliant statement. Probably the most lucid one I've read today.

5. To me
It means that the only real threat to our form of goverment is that we act out of fear to destroy our own Constitution and Bill of Rights.

6. It means that people can be manipulated through their emotions.
So you need to be aware of your own sensitivities, because what makes you uncomfortable, also makes you vulnerable to manipulation. That's why PC bombed for the Liberals. They were afraid to ask questions for fear of offending too many sensitivities. The only thing you have to fear, is fear itself, and those who keep you from asking the tough questions, because they are the obstacles to the truth.

That's what it means to me.

9. It means that without an FDR...
running things, the only thing we have to fear is the government.
