and I mean even more than he is now? I share Kucinich's concern's over expansion of the war to Syria and Iran. But I'm also wondering if Bush will screw it up such that Saudi and the Gulf States and Jordan and Turkey are in their as well.

My doomsday scenario runs along the lines of this: the price of oil just skyrockets and all the major powers: the US, Europe, Japan, Russia and China all start backing different proxies in the conflict. On a particularly pessimistic day, I think that everyone will send troops in to the Middle East.

I am afraid I may just end up shouting: WE ARE SO F-----D!!!!

I give my scenario about 5-20% chance of happening depending on my mood that day. Overall, optimistic that cooler heads will prevail. I think that if things really go to pot, the Republicans will kick out both Cheney and Bush by September and try to save what's left of the Republican Party for '08.

Cut the oil off...thats all the have to do. Shut us down and teach us a lesson...us, in more of the sence of ShrubCo. Is the GOP going to launch missles at every country that says "we will not sell to war mongering states." After all, if you selling any component or material that a state uses to conduct war crimes, are you not yourself guilty of the same crime?
