I am going nuts , just nuts.
With everything that's going on lately just beginning with last week in fact . We waited for bushs speech and it was well known it would be the same old crap , still we had to hear it for ourselves .

Now there is a flury of new issues unfolding especially with the talk about Iran and the sudden consulate raid and then of course Condi''s resistence under the pressure , well we all know she is not human .

Then there is bush talking to the troops in Georgia with this mindless confusion .

There is he bombing in Africa and now it seems as if no past terrorist was KILLED . oh yes we must kill someone .

I can't keep all of this filed away in my brain since it just never ends .

I cannot find employment here in sunny southern calif and have cut down to the bare bones of existence . My wife is disabled so we are nuts and now are both quiting smoking tomarrow so this will either be a benefit or just more mental torture .

The entire world around us is falling apart and I feel guilty even complaining when so many others have things so much worse .

When I think about the description of the troop that Sen Boxer brought up to Condi , my god , it brings back vietnam to full blown horror in my mind . I can't imagine how anyone can discount this sort of thing not even Condi , well , she is not human but at least a programed robot would show some sort of sympathy on the order of , I know Sen Boxer , I have visited these troops and feel such guilt for their situation , I just don't know how I will ever live with myself .

This world is coming apart right before our eyes and still it seems many , many people are unaware of the horror of it all.

I feel the pain and the horror and fear we should all be aware of and I am certain many here feel the same way .

This is just venting and ranting on my part , I am trying to see my way through this surreal madness .

3. But still there is magic in the world
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,3-2536147,00.html

Go for a walk and if you are close enough to the coast go watch a sunset over the Pacific.

Free and almost always awesome. A little redwood action might help too.
And remember you might not want to be all the way to crazy town but the drive
there is a lot of fun.

Golden Slumbers
(John Lennon, Paul McCartney)
Lead Vocal: Paul McCartney

Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye

Golden slumbers fill your eyes
Smiles awake you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye

Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye

4. Sending peace vibes your way
don't know if you're into that sort of thing; if not, then know that another DUer is thinking of you with good wishes.

6.  I'll take all the peace vibes I can get
Perhaps some of them will rub off and soil the whitehouse into submission or is it substraction .

7. That's the idea!
Now, one more thought, since you don't mind--watch your breath. One thing that can help relieve stress is to keep your breath even and strong. I've used it when in stressful situations and it has helped--in fact, in a doctor's office I found that breathing techniques helped lower my blood pressure.

8. That may be a bit more difficult
I am one of the un-lucky ones who suffer from panic and anxiety attacks .

You are right however , I was always afraid of the dentist but once I began to breath in a focused manner it was much better , not that I can't wait to return but it was better .

9. breathing techniques have been found
to help those with panic/anxiety attacks. Gee, I wish you lived closer to me! My husband is teaching a class on breath tomorrow at Future Visions Foundation, where we live.

Another thing you may wish to try are the Dances of Universal Peace. Since you are in Southern California, there should be a circle near you. They sometimes charge to cover room expense, but I've never seen anyone turned away for lack of funds. The Dances are fun, honor all spiritual traditions, and can be very healing. Check out http://www.churchofall.us -- go to Southern California Events for more information.

5. Seeing the events listed like that
It made me think 'busy work'. Running around, blowing stuff up to make it look like they are busy doing - something.

10. me too, me too
i read this
http://www.harpers.org/BaghdadYearZero.html

and responded http://journals.democraticunderground.com/barbtries/28, which ends,

and look what they've done to this country, to this nation's young, to countless innocent citizens of a previously sovereign nation that posed no threat to the USA. goodgawd they should be drowning in all the blood they have spilled, but instead: that goddam motherfucker installs a different set of warmongering yesmen and prepares to throw more and more bodies at the fire, and nobody's doing a fucking thing to stop this madness.

i'll be in a madhouse myself before this fearsome shit settles down....,

the frustration and the helplessness. it is good to be validated, knowing i'm not alone. i got me a job in sunny socal but it's not covering the rent let alone the rest of expenses for me and my 14-year-old. my boss from last year is such a skank i have serious doubts about whether i'll ever get my w-2 and that could cost me $2000 or more which i really need.

tomorrow's MLK day, and my JFMC group actually has a spot in the parade. but how can i afford to miss work?! you know?

time's are tough. but maybe it's worth a day's pay anyway - take my son and march to honor someone who actually represented love, justice, and peace.

thanks
