Tony Blair was ridiculed as "delusional" yesterday as he tried to justify his policy of military intervention and said it must continue after he leaves Downing Street.

In a valedictory speech on defence, the Prime Minister issued a blunt message to his expected successor Gordon Brown that spending on the armed forces should increase.. snip

His remarks were described as outrageous by MPs from all three main parties, who said it was obvious the catastrophe in Iraq had diminished Britain's standing in the world. snip

Liberal Democrat leader Sir Menzies Campbell said: "The Prime Minister does not seem to have learned the lessons of Iraq.

"Without United Nations authority the military action was illegal and severely damaged Britain's reputation. This will be the Prime Minister's legacy."

1. Blair is every bit out of touch with reality as Bush.....
and as one dimensional. What are the odds of two guys like this being in power at the same time.

2. Not sure if that's the best way to describe BLiar
Spineless Lapdog may be better. All he does is do what we tell him to, regardless if its Bill or Chimpy holding the leash.

3. What an opportunistic coward.
May his legacy be one of shame and ridicule. I hope Brown does right by the British troops and British involvement in this Iraq debacle.

5. Tony and the PNAC are all delusional and they have been since
day one of the invasion of a country that was no threat. Tony wanted the oil for the Queen's oil company,(Royal Dutch Shell and BP)just like Bush wanted the oil. Greed drove them to criminal acts. They are no different than any other thief, who will murder to get what they want.
