Right. Just like everyone who doesn't want Hillary as the nominee is doing so out of misogyny.

Ridiculous. Obama's a good man, he's an excellent orator, he's got a bright future. We could do worse than have him as the nominee, but that said, he IS too green and he would make a better choice for the #2 slot.

I'd like to see Al Gore. Or Wes Clark. Those are my top two choices, Gore far and away. Obama is a few down the list, Hillary is WAY down.

I guess that means I "subconsciously" hate women and African Americans. :eyes:

20. Great point - and I like your top two choices as well.

I'm a woman and I don't much care for Hillary - mainly because I'm tired of the political dynasties. I'd like to see a woman as president, but it probably won't be her because of the years of demonization.

I also live in a red state and I have problems seeing how Hillary or Obama are going to win. My state, technically, is purple, and I think MIGHT have a chance to flip with the right candidate. Unfortunately, in today's political climate, I don't think a woman or a minority will flip it. It's sad, I know, but it's very true.

Obama was in the Dem *minority* (meaning no real pull) when he first got to the Senate.

Let's see how he governs *now*.

Other than being in the U.S. Senate for 1 month with a Democratic majority, he's got no credentials on a national scale to impress a Southern Brotha like me.

Al Gore's my choice (even though he's not declared) in '08. He's been in the White House and has even done the Senate thing.

I still want to see how he responds on the campaign trail. He did VERY WELL in his election in his home State, but Presidential Politics is much more grueling, and he, as is every other candidate, going to have to deal with arrows from every side and angle. I want to see how each one reacts under fire, because there's sure going to be ongoing fire on anyone who gets in the White House!

Otherwise, whoever gives a sh*t about his skin color isn't with us.

That said...I have my concerns that he's peaking way too early...I really, really like Obama, but...

Hopefully, he'll come out of this with a VP nod or in the cabinet...which will set him for POTUS easily in 2016.

The best staff people are already lining themselves up with announced candidates, and the primary season is stacked now near the beginning.
