to be the Democratic candidate for President because they are the TWO MOST BEATABLE, they do not want Edwards who is who we should all get together and back, if Gore is not running we will need to find a suitable vice presidential candidate and it is not one of these two nor Clark, nor Kucinich...but mark my words they will slay Obama...remember Ford in Tenessee not to mention what they will do to Hillary. I am writing this after reading the poll PICK YOUR PAIR post and not being able to believe what I was seeing. Obama though he may be a good man stands the same chance of winning the Presidential election as I do and if he gets the nomination we might as well get ready for McCain or that idiot ex mayor Guilianni or however you spell it after eight years of Bush.

But, I do agree with you on the Clinton and Obama thing, even though I happen to like Obama.

And agree that the MSM is very taken with Obama and Hillary. However, if those two want to run, let 'em and let the best person in the Democratic field win the nomination.

Edwards is off to an excellent start in Iowa. He's at the top of the list over Obama and Hillary with a double digit lead.

They are curious about Obama and are trying to find some weak point. They don't care who we run and are not afraid of any of our guys. That is really silly. Just as we view the repugs candidates and laugh at them they do the same with all of our guys.

they KNOW how to attack Obama they have already been doing it....comparing his name to OSAMA, oh and did you forget he is Black, in case you have not noticed we have not had a Black President yet...oh wait yeah we did... on 24..oh yeah we all agreed that is fiction... and we have not had a Woman President yet either....people...even good people resist change...and if we fail to realize this and nominate either of these fine people at this critical point in time...we have done it to ourselves. Edwards is intelligent, likable and sincere... or just what we need to run against the best candidates they have to offer.

I: don't think Hillary is electable, but it is not because she is a woman. I'm sorry, but if you take a look at Obama it is pretty apparent that this guy is not going to alienate anyone on the basis of his race except the die-hards of the Republican Party who wouldn't vote Democratic anyway....and, perhaps, the timid Democrats who, like their Republican counterparts, would not vote for a black either for their nominee. Convenient....some of us can reject a candidate on the basis of their race and blame it on the Republicans! Quite frankly, Obama is not necessarily my first choice...but I am getting tired of some Democrats making race an issue in his campaign. Obama can win. He can attract independents and young voters to the voting booths in droves. He has an optimism that transcends the race issue as well as party lines. The MSM may have propped Obama up, but perhaps they underestimated him.

Hillary, well, I don't believe she can win PERIOD.

This is how democracy works: WE choose a candidate who suits US, fits OUR beliefs, OUR values, and present that candidate to the entire nation. Then the ENTIRE NATION chooses.

All the rest is them trying out fancy footwork to get you dizzy.

or maybe it's "Survivor". Until a vote is cast in a primary, all this speculating and grandstanding and spinning and anal-yizing is just a game. It's the "hot stove" league for the punditocracy...before the real season begins and where any team or player can do or be anything. It opens up the door to lots of personal spinning and emotions, but little else...and that's what the corporate media wants.

Sure, they want a horse race between Hillary and Barak. It'll draw eyeballs and allows all the Hillary and Clinton haters some play time. Tweety can't do a show without some kind of Hillary "anal-ysis" that always turns into a bashing session. Obama's his dream...his anti-Hillary. It's all one dimensional...but so is your TV picture tube.

The game to watch over the next months is the money. A case study was how boooshie spent most of '99 just hauling in the cash and assembling the players to steamroll to the nomination. Steamroll? He and his henchmen outright bought it. Soon we'll be hearing whose got the cash and who doesn't and then the game will start to change. By this time next year, we'll know whose "legit" and the polls will start to reflect that and the pundits will follow along.

This year will be an interesting one. While the Democratic race will get the corporate media's attention, the real game will be for the "heart" (if such a thing exists) of the remnants of the Repugnican party. Who will represent the future face of that party. The game is also gonna be on the state and local level as the parties look to slate candidate for next year's election and to target vulnerable districts. How many of these Repugnicans can "stand tall" with booshie or how will they try to cover their asses.

While it's gonna be interesting to see which candidate emerges from the Democratic field, the splintering of the right will be ther real story that begins to emerge. I like to point out how many at this point in early '91 thought Bill Clinton would not only be the nominee, but win. The corporate media was still all over Mario Cuomo.
