Washington 'snubbed Iran offer'
"Iran offered the US a package of concessions in 2003, but it was rejected, a senior former US official has told the BBC's Newsnight programme."

"Observers say the Iranian offer as outlined nearly four years ago corresponds pretty closely to what Washington is demanding from Tehran now."

What's up with that? Why was Iran's offer rejected four years ago?

1. They said they won't talk to Iran.
I guess that some sort of "leadership" interpretation by wingnuts or something.

3. So let me get this straight.....
The Iranians pledged to terminate their support for Hezbollah and in addition vowed to cooperate in post-war Iraq all in return for dropping sanctions......and Bush Co. turned down the offer because "they don't deal with evil".

I think this warrants some serious Congressional investigations.

4. For them, it's better to appear as a "man"
to the hillbillies and push for a possible profitable confrontation for their war profiteers than to make sound judgements for and on behalf of the American people.

5. Yeah well they could've saved a lot of American lives......

6. Because they were full of themselves following 'Mission Accomplished'
Saw no need to compromise, planned on moving on to the next 'Axis of Evil'.

Now, our position is so weakened, Iran sees no need to compromise.
