TX Gov.'s Inauguration Features Ted Nugent in Confederate Flag Shirt & Machine Gun props
Edited on Thu Jan-18-07 09:37 AM by elehhhhna

Rocking the house as the night's final act was singer Ted Nugent, a friend of Perry's known as the "Motor City Madman." Nugent appeared onstage wearing a cut-off T-shirt emblazoned with the sure-to-draw-headlines Confederate flag and shouting some unflattering remarks about non-English speakers, according to people who were in attendance. His props were machine guns.

8. No, not really
I've seen just as disgusting acts throughout the North and West too. Sadly, racism and ignorance aren't limited to one geographical area.

3. As a Michiganian, I'd like to offer my sincere apologies for Ted Nugent....
We're a blue state, but we produce a few real batshit crazy right wingers. Lo siento. Je suis desolee.

4. Recall! I didn't think my opinion of Perry could get any lower until I read this.
And I live in Texas. Just hearing that Nuge is Perry's friend is enough to make me puke. But allowing that trash talk in what is supposed to be a state celebration is disgusting and worthy of a recall.

10. Carved into the wooden desktops and the backs of literally
thousands of chairs in almost every classroom at the major university that I attended by likely thousands of bored students was the slogan "Nugent Bites". My generation's version of "Kilroy was here" (with the attendant "Up Yours"). I always figured it was aimed at wingnut Ted Nugent.

11. There are a lot of good musicians in Texas
Why do they put an asshole like this on? Why not Steve Earle, Willie Nelson, Robert Earl Keen, or Dixie Chicks?

14. My question exactly.
Texas is full of musicians; in Austin, you can't avoid them if you try. If Perry didn't want one of them Dirty Lib'ruls, he could have picked someone not political at all. Who plays good music.

Why not Los Lonely Boys? Well, some of their lyrics are in Spanish. And they're selling out gigs around the country--they aren't broken down has-beens....

Back in the 70's, I worked in a music venue. I saw many fine shows. But Ted Nugent played twice. He sucked then.

12. Big bad Ted Nugent
Didn't bath or change his clothes for 2 weeks before he was supposed
report for his draft physical. He also used his clothes as his toilet for that
time period. He avoided service.

Ted also was given legal guardianship over a very young women who was
to become his wife # 3 (?) so he wouldn't be charged with statutory rape.

He is truly a creep.

13. Ted wasn't showing off the medals he earned in Vietnam??
Oh, that's right, ted is a cowardly chickenhawk motherfucker who has to have props to be bad cause he ain't got no real manly props to display. He truly is a "conservative" statesmen. Wonder if Ted would go hunting if the Deer were armed.

I've met this guy, he's a sick fuck. He actually PACKS HEAT - in the back of his pants while on Stage, no shit.

I asked him if he was going to SHOOT a fan, otherwise WHY THE GUN?

He would. Nuff said. :)
