Let's Stop The Horseshit Line: "Higher Oil Company Taxes Mean Higher Pump Prices"

Let's get this straight. US Oil Companies (call them internationals if you will, but they are based in Texas) are enjoying another year of record profits. Increased taxes on those companies may reduce profits, thus their share price, but its not going to increase the price of gasoline. This call for continued special and favorable tax policy for oil companies is no more than a thinly disguised ploy to maintain investor profits, it doesn't have anything to do with pump prices.

Another thing, oil related. Notice that world wide oil prices have dropped in lock-step with the drop in Bush's power to effect world circumstance. If we got rid of him its likely that world wide oil prices would drop down to the top of the pre-Iraq/Bush-war OPEC target range of $24. That would be about half of what it is now.
