I need a tutorial...

I am so ashamed. I have been here long enough (900plus posts) and I have no idea how to do all the things that would make me a better DU member. By that I mean I don't know how to link to articles I read, or how to bring pics and video from one place to another. I admit I am a nubee on the computer, so any directions that any kind person cares to give me will have to be put into the simplest terms possible. No Latin, please. I am very slow on the uptake about such things, and would appreciate your speaking slowly. I'm recuperating from bronchitis right now, so I actually have the time to read and try to do this. Is there already a forum that explains these sort of things to ignorant people like me? If so, I can't find it (but that's no surprise) Thanks in advance for your help.

go to the address bar of the selected page... place your cursor over the address and right click once. on the drop down menu that appears select copy and left click. Addition: To link a picture... place cursor over picture .. right click once .. select properties .. Highlight the location and copy it

In your message area when you are posting .. right click once .. select paste and left click once.

There's a link to that page when you post. Click on 'HTML lookup table' and that page will come up in a popup window.

Lots of good computer people there that know what to do for just about anything.

To link and article:

1. go to the address bar and hold down the left mouse button, it turns the writing blue
2. hold the button and scan over the link, let it go at the end
3. right click the mouse and a box comes up, click where it says 'copy'
4. go the post where you want to put the link and right click and and click where it says paste

the link should show up, do the same again for any part you want to copy/paste into the post.


If you go to the Video forum I think there are instructions there on how to post from YouTube. Never done it, just remember seeing it there.

I'm not too good at the picture posting but there should be someone here to guide you or at the computer forum.
