Lobby reform Bill defeated. Just got this in an email!
The lobby reform bill, S.1, The Legislative Transparency and Accountability Act of 2007, including its sinister Section 220, has gone down in defeat!

After failure to achieve the necessary 60 votes to proceed toward ratification, the Democrats and Sen. Harry Reid, sponsor of the bill, have conceded defeat.

Again, the people have spoken and prevailed! Many receptionists at Senate offices confirm they have been besieged with protests against the bill and its oppressive, grassroots-crushing Sec. 220.

Democratic leaders thought passage of this lobby reform bill was assured. Yet protest led by the National Prayer Network and other large Christian/conservative activist groups, such as Focus on the Family, Concerned Women for America, Traditional Family Values Coalition, etc., brought it down.

All lovers of freedom are now empowered to concentrate on a much, much greater threat still looming in Congress: the federal anti-hate bill, H.R. 254. Come to www.truthtellers.org for instructions on how to attain an even greater victory!

2. Fine, then.
If that's the case, then the line-item veto should be off the table, too.

3. The new rumor is that the line item veto will be removed from this
lobby reform bill and it will get an up/down vote on the floor, but it will be added to the minimum wage increase bill next week!

I'm not sure which one makes me angrier! I'm thinking the one against minimum wage! I don't want the damn lobbyiests there either, butwe can at least vote against the AH's that voted against the lobbying bill. That won't help the people on minimum wage! I'm not positive the current SCOTUS will tell this admin they can't do a line item veto either!
