"Cracking Inside Toronto's Terrorist RIng" CBC (Available Online)

This is a CBC interview with a young Canadian Muslim fundementalist who worked as a mole for the Canadian Intelligence Service (CSIS) inside the group of alleged terrorist suspects, arrested in June. He says he approached CSIS and offered his service when he discovered just how dangerous this group of fellow Muslims were. Its definitely worth watching if only to disabuse oneself of the notion that fundementalist Muslims are the "bad guys" and learn in more detail what they had planned.

1. Hmmmmmmm
I wonder if they are as dangerous as "The Robin Hood Gang" we had in Northern Ontario when I was a kid. We had tree forts in the forest and real bow and arrows. (Home made so not very lethal.)But like Thoreau when he lived at Walden our mums did our laundry and cooking. I'll bet it's going to turn out that those terrorists were more dangerous than having a bath without one of those rubber mats in the bottom of the tub to keep you from falling. Eeeeeek! I live in fear in this country where we have umpteen million terrorists waiting to sneak across your border. What a breeding ground for fanaticism!

2. Your atitude suggests you haven't seen the show. The informant
who is a devout fundemental Muslim who actively lobbied the Ontario gov't to enact Sharia law was so alarmed by the extremism he heard so much so he became a informant on his own accord. He certainly doesn't shre your dismissive attitude. If you listen to the interview you will learn the extent of their plans and that the damning conversations have been recorded.

3. Didn't listen
but I will. I don't think terrorism will be a major problem here. It isn't even a major problem in the U.S. --- it's manufactured. As someone pointed out --- more people are killed by peanuts than by terroridsts in the U.S. But then I am of the persuasion that 9/11 was an inside job. Let us be fair and wait and see what comes out of the trials of these young terrorists. I hope certain folk are not trying to create an atmosphere of fear and prejudice in advance of the trial. Read what happened with Araar in the latest WALRUS. But you're right. I pooh poohed without having read or watched. Will do. Promise.
