Kucinich is now one of the the "overseers" of the FCC
and wants to revisit the eradication of the fairness doctrine in broadcasting.

What do you think?

3. There is so much that needs to be done in the area of the FCC
First off, replace the republicans who just gave AT&T the big gimme.
Fairness doctrine wouldn't get anywhere with the current crew overseeing the FCC.

4. Good
But he should stop with the vanity candidacy for President. In 2003-2004 when many Democratic candidates were still supporting the war, it made sense for him to run (but even then Dean and Clark were the realistic anti-war candidates), but now he's even weaker in his standing.

5. My thoughts on this
Edited on Thu Jan-18-07 09:37 PM by MoseyWalker
Being in the public eye and getting "populist" ideas across to the majority of americans through a presidential run sounds good to me. Who else could get these ideas and actions across to the populace? I think it's a great thing, and hope that more join him.

He's not weaker in his standing, because he is not just an anti-war candidate, though that gives him much credibility to many.

See what the guy stands for, and has stood for for decades, and then get back to me!

6. He can do more in the Congress than he can running a vanity campaign
that will get him little serious coverage.

11. I agree with you....
.. any ray of truth is better than blanket bullshit. So much of what is discussed is framed by corporate media, even when it isn't watched. People who don't think it influences them, still 'talk about' and reference the topics chosen, which continues to distort reality. In order to move beyond the spectacle there needs to be communication on a broader range than the narrow scope the media provides. While the 'media' is the problem, and will not contribute to the solution, until people turn away and refuse to watch it, I think any truth revealed in the spotlight is a plus.

7. Tucker interviewed him about this yesterday
Yeah, I know - Tucker. But DK was good. And when Tucker tried to pull his high school bs, DK played it straight and got some good information across.

10. K&R... I see this as VERY good... a man with character like him needs to run rough-herd...
on the republican-controlled, bribed to bits FCC.
