Blair aide arrested in funds probe
POSTED: 10:39 a.m. EST, January 19, 2007

LONDON, England (AP) -- Police arrested an aide to Prime Minister Tony Blair in the investigation into whether political honors were traded for cash, his office said Friday.

Ruth Turner, Blair's director of government relations, was questioned on suspicion of being involved in the sale of honors -- illegal under British law -- and perverting the course of justice, police said.

In a statement, police said Turner, who has worked at Blair's office since 2004, was arrested at her home address and has been released on bail while more inquiries are carried out.

3. Time for the Canary to sing, methinks.
You have to clear the pool of the little fish before the big one takes the worm.

Bend over, Tony.

4. OK now we know Blair staff is fair game for arrest.... Bigger Story Than Most Realize
Many people believed that Blair would leave office without any substantial action being taken against him.

This is the Government's warning shot across Blair's bow. If they are willing to arrest his director of government relations on a corruption charge, then it is possible they will charge Blair.

This could get good as the Parliment is very very unhappy with Tony Blair, including his own party.
