Bush's historical predecessor
Bartcop has a link on his site to a ridiculously funny article comparing Unitary Executive George the First to Harry Truman.

The differences between Harry "give 'em Hell, Harry" Truman and George "please, God, send him to hell before he sends us there" Bush are too vast to believe--starting with the simple fact that not only could Truman speak English, he wasn't guilty of capital murder.

So I went forth and found Bush's historical predecessor: Baby Face Nelson, who compensated for his diminutive stature by taking such joy in killing even the scumbags crossed the street when they saw him coming.

1. I laugh everytime I remember Georgie shaking hands with John
Kerry at the debates. Bush is a "little man" and that encounter declared out loud for all to see just how "small" he is in every way...great symbolism.

4. Except they electronically puffed Bush up...in that 3rd debate
he looked like a goddamned bulging 6'7" 280 lb. ubermensch. He actually dwarfed Kerry a little bit.

The interesting thing was that in Debate #1, Kerry got the best of the camera work because they didn't puff Bush up, they raised his podium to the level of Kerry and actually bounced it a little.

But the 3rd debate was crazy, visually. The podiums were at equal height but Bush was enlarged in both directions, as if you are using MS photoshop and enlarge picture 115% vertically AND horizontally!

I wish I had some vid to link to, but I sat there and watched it. It was subtle, the Busheviks always are. But there was no doubt that short, scrawny skinny Tiberius Chimperor had been taking his Wheaties.

I watched for stuff like that because it is what the Soviet Communists would have done if they had this technolgy.

Naturally, it was what the Busheviks did. It was hidoeus and I doubt if 1,000,000 people in the whole country noticed.

It certainly wasn't commented on by and branch of the MSM.

2. I disagree, he is historically closest, for the moment, to Ferdinand
Marcos. Roughly that level and combination of arrogance, ignorance, and short-sightedness.

http://encarta.msn.com/encyclopedia_761557463/Ferdinand_Marcos.html

However, I am concerned that he or his descendants could easily reach Papa Doc, Pinochet or Hitler/Stalin/Pol Pot levels (more likely the Bush children or grandchildren than Dubya himself).

Hold on to your hats, the Fall of Great Republics is always a bumpy ride!

(Still, NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER STOP FIGHTING, no matter how bleak it looks, there is always a chance, however small, that Old America can be restored)

3. Doesn't work. Marcos was less corrupt than Bush.
Ferdinand Marcos was a very corrupt man. He was corrupt beyond the abilities of modern man to describe it...and he looked nearly honest compared to George Bush.

5. No way. Strongly disagree. Though Chimperor's career is not yet over

he could easily be dropping battlefield nukes in Iran in March 2007 (with a September 2006 Product Rollout and Ad Blitz, as good marketing dictates).

Things likely spiral short-term and/or long-term after THAT.

But look at some of this shit Marcos did:

Claiming anarchy was near, Marcos declared martial law in 1972, thereby suspending the 1935 constitution, dissolving Congress, and assuming total power. Marcos suppressed the political opposition, arresting leaders such as Benigno ("Ninoy") Aquino, Jr., and ended a long tradition of a free press. A new constitution promulgated in January 1973 gave Marcos absolute power, and elections were indefinitely postponed. Marcos ruled by decree, cloaking his dictatorial decisions in the rhetoric of law.

In 1983 Aquino decided to return to the Philippines, even though he anticipated being rearrested. Aquino was shot in the back of the head and killed minutes after his arrival at Manila International Airport (now Ninoy Aquino International Airport). The government claimed the assassination was the work of a lone gunman, who had been killed by security police at the airport.

Bush is close, and has accomplished some of that already in a more bloddless fashion, but realistically, even if EVERYTHING we believe he's done, he's done, inclduing LIHOP/MIHOP, that's still just a TIE compared to the agonies of thousands and thousands Filipinos that Marcos' wreaked, the corruption, the many more stolen elections and years in power.

We will just have to agree to disagree.
