College Students who stop Army Recruiting deemed terrorists by Pentagon
Edited on Mon Jan-02-06 02:25 PM by MessiahRp
Absolutely ridiculous....

-snip-
For antiwar activists at Southern Connecticut State University, it was a triumph: Students pre-empted an Army National Guard recruiting drive on campus last February, handing out anti-military pamphlets and shouting until the recruiters packed up and left.

For the U.S. military, it was a threat--a serious enough threat for the Pentagon, using a secret surveillance program, to record the SCSU protest in a national database of "potential terrorist threats directed against the Department of Defense."

Terrorist threat? A bunch of college kids trying to keep other students from getting suckered into killing and being killed in Iraq?

The Pentagon concluded that the reported threat at Southern was "not credible" and deemed the investigation "closed." And yet the Feb. 23 protest remained in the database at least until mid-December, when NBC News reported on the secret program of spying on American peace activists.

3. A taste for those on dial-up (I sympathize, I was on it for years)-worth a
look:

5. "We have met the enemy, Rummy, and he is you. Database and all."
No kidding.

I'm sure every single person who attended anti-war protests in D.C. are in that Database too. This morning on C-SPAN Rotenberg said there are 19 cameras in D.C., BUT they are only used during MAJOR EVENTS. Riiiiiiiiiiight. Like I believe that?:eyes: Certainly they were turned on for the protests. Which means everyone who attended the marches is on film and a part of that disgusting "Database" of U.S. citizens practicing FREE SPEECH.

7. Man, that "terrorist" word
sure is useful. Nice wide definition, there.

8. If you're not a loyal Bushbot, you're a "terrorist"
or a "potential terrorist", no exceptions. It's sad, but true.

9. Another example of the new Nazi tactics of this regime.
It's changing the rules as they go along to suit their agenda. This could essentially be a start towards wiping away any rights we have to protest and express dissent in the future when we don't approve of our government's practices .
