Impeachable Offense du jour

Still Waiting....
Yesterday, the hound-dogs of the White House press corps asked not one question regarding the Mother of All Downing Street memos during the White House daily press briefing. It certainly is unlikely that Scott McClellan would open up and tell all if a journo politely requested that he do so. Nevertheless, there is a credible report that Bush in January 2003 talked to Blair about orchestrating an event to provoke Saddam Hussein so Bush could justify a war. That ought to merit at least one bothersome query.

Background found on England's Channel 4 website:

1. Rovian Rule: Everything is a distraction
from everything else.

If one issue gets too hot, focus on something else.

3. Do you think that they actually create new crimes just to take
everyone's mind off the ones from last week?

4. He really does excel at creating chaos.
It's the clearest case of projection I've ever seen anywhere.

If things had gone a little better, he could have just been a serial killer.

6. ha ! guess B** didn't realize that the British are such good note
takers, huh.

I still love Bill Maher's take on it. (to B**, paraphrasing). "Please, please, stop. You have already screwed up two countries, lost 4 airliners, lost the WTC, part of the pentagon, New Orleans. Please stop, didn't you always want to be a cowboy? Try that."

2. Fear in the corporate media It has even gripped the Governor of Iowa
Edited on Tue Feb-07-06 12:32 PM by HereSince1628
And that plays directly into the game of the Criminals in the WH.

Fear motivates conservative thinking and behavior.

5. See, I'm the odd-ball with that. I think there is some truth in what
he is saying. Dick Morris said the same thing last week. We are right to fight against illegal wiretapping. BUT, inadvertantly, we are providing a platform for the insane, Dems are soft on security rhetoric. That doesn't mean we shouldn't stop fighting, but it does mean that we are caught between the rock and the hard place. I think that once we can shift the balance (more specifics about intrusions are leaked out) the problem will go away...

9. Being strong on protecting the Constitution is looking weak.
Go ahead and believe that. When you get to the forced labor camp, try to look me up, I'll fill you in on the nutritional benefits of eating bread made from sawdust.

12. You are missing the point, darling. Two totally different subjects
First, yes, be 100% against the illegal spying ! Yes.

But, be aware, that by doing so, you are inadvertantly, providing them a platform to call us weak on defense.

There is NO causal effect between the two - it is just a fact. A fact that there may or may not be a way to avoid..

13. I quite disagree.
They are linked and in an important manner.

The country cannot be protected abroad by destroying it at home.

That DLC narrow focus on "winning causes" is really just a form of tunnel vision caused by their blinders.

But I do respect your right to hold your opinion...at least up to the point you called me darling.

14. Very good, you came up with the nexus. This is what Democrat
leaders need to be saying at every opportunity! But, even with that effort, I still think that the whole spying thing gives B** the platform or opportunity to spout his "I will do anything to protect you" bullshit, which 40% of the population still eats up. In other words, if it hadn't been uncovered (and don't get me wrong, thank god, it did), that opportunity for B** wouldn't be there. All I am really saying is that it is an unfortunate byproduct.

Sorry to offend by calling you darling.

11. "Where is bin Laden? This program is worthless --
it only catches Quakers."

It's about working with what you have, don't you think?

"This is America, no one is above the law."

The Constitution is pretty abstract to some people -- who think it is based somehow on the ten commandments, lol. But everyone understands "the law" or they believe they do.
