'there was no room for them at the inn'
I was thinking about the Christmas story in Luke, and it struck me again - even worse because it's Christmas - how can anyone who calls themselves Christian be remotely satisfied with what's happened to the evacuees devasted by Katrina??

Luke 2:7 (King James translation)
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

4. My heart has been on the floor since the murder of New Orleans
The tragic story of the man who killed himself & two family members because they were about to be evicted from their FEMA funded hotel room says it all. The political party who claims Jesus to be on their side cheers at such tragedy, and my heart breaks.

6. Those who suffer and die at the hands of others are literally Christ. Now.
If the New Testament means anything at all, it means that.
