Were They BOTH Drunk?
Granted, Cheney was probably drunk. But Whittington doesn't score too high on the common sense test either. Besides, I'd rather believe that these senior guys were acting like a pair of drunken good ole boys who would sober up in the morning. Of course, this is a problem for people who like Texas Republicans, and I don't.

Conclusion: They were both feeling the effects of six Scotches.

1. The only entity that would know for sure...
... is the hospital (they'd test in the case of any accident), but they aren't going to say unless ordered to through a subpoena.

2. Of course they were...
none of those good old boty redneck assholes go out for a hunt with out getting tanked. Probably beat their wives before they walked out the door also. Why else the delay in reporting?

4. Just, um, humor me for a moment
have y'all ever been hunting? Strange shit happens, and yes, I've seen fellow hunters shot. Never on purpose...unless you're on the MIHOP bandwagon already. :)

6. Killing Small Animals
No, I've never really understood the attraction of killing small animals. Lots of things mystify me. I don't see the appeal of Ted Nugent, either.
