2. It's simple, you just stonewall.
Scotty can keep going with his standard "don't answer any questions" techniques. If he had any kind of a conscience he would have already bailed out (like Ari Fleischer did).

I do not think he is at all concerned about the hard questions since he doesn't answer any questions anyway.

I think the man has lost his soul and he just isn't bothered by lying, even when everybody knows he's lying and doesn't give him a shred of credibility.
