That would be my unsolicited advice for Vice President Dick Cheney.

You shot a guy. At least stay in town until he's out of the hospital.

You shot a guy. Don't blame the sun or the wind or the rotation of the Earth. And for goodness' sake, don't blame Harry Whittington........

6. This is from the sports section, too. From the 'outdoors writer'.
They're disgusted here in Texas, I don't care what some people try to spin. Their base is revolted by this. Not the cultists, of course, but those with at least a bit of sense left see the truth.

22. Interesting how this is playing out.
Those who fear their guns will be taken away by us scary liberals have a vested interest in holding the shooter responsible (remember "guns don't kill people, people do"?) for safety, so that the right to have guns is not restricted. They can't give Cheney a pass now. It's good to see responsible gun owners speaking out.

They didn't know about the victim's heart attack then. It should be even more interesting tomorrow. I read (scan, mostly) every major paper in TX, but the article here by the outdoor writer at the Statesman carried the most weight, imo. He knows his subject and is outraged at Darth's conduct.
