I have a theory . . .

Cheney shot this guy on purpose. Whittington's health isn't as bad as reported. The media runs amok talking about the Cheney shooting. Cheney is pressured to step down. Bush picks Condi Rice as the new vice president. Condi Rice runs for president in 2008. :-)

15. No. This shooting was accidental.

If Bush wanted Condi for his VP, all he'd have to do is to ask Cheney to resign because of "health reasons." Why on earth would Bush expose his administration to the kind of harsh criticism it's received from LEFT AND RIGHT, just to install Condi when he could do that through other, easier channels.

The conspiracy theories are quite outrageous--fun to speculate--but really ridiculous.
