Ken's Commentary: Hit Me With Your Best Shot
February 14, 2006 By Ken Schram
Aaron Burr.
That'd be the only other Vice-President who shot someone while he was in office.
And that was back in 1804.
Contrary to what some of the people who've been emailing me think, IT IS news when the "veep" is out bird hunting and bags a lawyer instead.
And for you conservatives who are having a conniption because Mr. Cheney is now the butt of a whole lot of jokes: TOUGH!
Just spare me all that "dignity of the office" crap.
Because unless you send me sworn affidavits that you never, ever, laughed at - or told - a Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky joke, I'm not buying any of that partisan patter about "respecting the office."
Actually, what I'd really like people to send me are some really good Dick Cheney jokes.
Not lame ones like Leno did, but funny ones like Letterman and John Stewart.
Barbs with some bite and humor.
A word of caution though: The NSA may "accidentally" intercept such emailed jokes as it continues to conduct routine spying surveillance on those of you who otherwise have nothing to hide.
But don't let that worry you.
Come on: Make me grin.
Gimme some good guffaws.
Send me your funniest cheap Cheney shots and I'll share the best of them in a future commentary.
By the way: Aaron Burr was a better shot.
