Sometimes shit is just unreal...
It's difficult to assimilate. Paul Hackett drops out of Senate race? Dick Cheney shoots an old man while hunting. Hackett says he was pushed out by a few in the Democratic Party that did not wish him to run? Rumors say Cheney may have been drinking. They say the old man got "peppered". Then they say one of the buckshots was near his heart and that it caused him to have a "silent" heart attack? Humor, ridicule, empathy, sympathy...sometimes shit is just unreal.

2. Yeah, I agree.
There is a quality of intense weirdness that has descended on this planet.

Not many of us really are seeing it that way.

Oh well, at least I didn't get "peppered" over the weekend.

(Good Ecclesiastes quote BTW.)

3. Wonder what folksy metaphor they'll come up with for heart failure
"That's just Whitty's ticker skippin' a beat!"

"Ain't nothin' but those pretty nurses in ICU!"

"Gonna take more than a few pellets to drop an old bird like Whitty!"

David fuckin' Horowitz should be talkin' about Commies, considering his own idiotic past.

Now what quandry are you in, exactly?

11.  what's the problem if true? Old inherited oil money in a rich family?
Edited on Wed Feb-15-06 01:34 AM by thebigidea
This is America, right? Where we can invest in companies and hold stock, right?

20k? Christ, Cheney gets much more than that every year from Halliburton.

By the way, I looked this up. From the Times, 2000:

"The Elk Hills purchase sent Occidental's share price up about 10 percent at the time, which increased the value of stock held by Mr. Gore Sr. Since his death, the stock has remained in his estate, whose primary beneficiary is his wife. The vice president's most recent financial disclosure report valued the stock at $250,000 to $500,000."

"Mr. Gore is executor of the estate, but his aides say that he exercises no control over the stock in the estate and has never owned Occidental stock himself."

Why, that monster! That cold hearted monster! Ooooo, wait till I tell Chairman Mao.

Edited on Wed Feb-15-06 01:39 AM by thebigidea
And if he did, could you explain exactly what would be so horrible? Why did this bother you so much?

With all the oil shenanigans going on, you were worried about some oil stocks his dead father held?

Edited on Wed Feb-15-06 01:55 AM by thebigidea
again, what's the problem? Oil stocks, Gore's dad. What's the fucking problem?

The rest of the article is comprised of crazed neocon gibberish attacks on Kerry and Democrats. Ho hum.

27. You've established a solid track record of dodging the facts
Edited on Wed Feb-15-06 02:07 AM by thebigidea
So its very easy to figure out where you're coming from.

Again:

"The Elk Hills purchase sent Occidental's share price up about 10 percent at the time, which increased the value of stock held by Mr. Gore Sr. Since his death, the stock has remained in his estate, whose primary beneficiary is his wife. The vice president's most recent financial disclosure report valued the stock at $250,000 to $500,000."

"Mr. Gore is executor of the estate, but his aides say that he exercises no control over the stock in the estate and has never owned Occidental stock himself."

"and has never owned Occidental stock himself."

"and has never owned Occidental stock himself."

You post shit from a neocon rag from an extremist right wing radio host, regurgitating crap from over 6 years ago, and you don't think we know where you're coming from?

once more, from the man himself on a WP chat:

Vice President Gore: Actually, I don't own any stock in Occidental. Nor do I "control" any stock. When my father died 18 months ago, I was named "executor" of his estate -- a position which has one and only one duty: to see that the terms of the will are abided by. In discharging that responsibility I saw to it that the stock he left for the benefit of my mother was transferred to a trust that is supposed to provide for her and her care. The trustee has the responsibility of managing the assets of the trust (which is about $500,000). I do not.

Or why you're spreading stupid articles from right wing nutjobs.

7. And then I hear what sounds like a coordinated talking point campaign
repeating over and over that the press is all hung up on not being told when there are all these terrible things going on in the world that they could be asking about instead. When three or four pundits both national and local say the same shit, you know they're reading the same freakin' memo.

Edited on Wed Feb-15-06 02:25 AM by thebigidea
and its a great place to watch it torn to shreds before your eyes.

You know, if you really did want Gore to be President and stuff, wouldn't you, ah - greet the news that the troublesome article was a load of neocon shit with some relief? "Ah, thank goodness for that. For a second I thought Gore was as bad as Cheney! That'll teach me to read David Horowitz's website."

Instead you refuse to even address the evidence, dodge around, and then wrap it up with some big showstopping number wallowing in theatrics. Sheesh.

Your question was answered, and you didn't like the answer.

What are you going to do next? Ask about troubling news about "Kerry's Secret Muslim Connections?"

33. since when was I convincing anyone I could lead the country?
Edited on Wed Feb-15-06 02:41 AM by thebigidea
News to me. I thought I was just some sarcastic guy up at 2:30AM wasting time with some inconsequential shit. If I knew I had to be convincing people I could lead the country, I'd be wearing more than boxers.

"You all need to grow up, get some stones, quit playing your childish 'gotcha' game--it just makes you look weak. "

As opposed to posting 6 year old hatchet jobs from neocon websites, then refusing to address articles disproving them, right?

"And it's HURTING our party. Why do you think we don't WIN?"

Which party was that? The one that reads Horowitz and Lowell "Kerry's Secret Muslim Connections" Whateverhisnameis?

What party are you talking about, exactly?

"GO PLAY YOUR GAMES WITH SOMEONE ELSE...I'M GONNA GO SIT AT THE ADULT TABLE...."

Uh huh. Where presumably they take neocon hit pieces with the profund solemnity they deserve. Laughable.

Your question was handled from the start: Gore never owned any OP stock, he's the executor of his father's estate, and the dough is held in trust for his mother, as his father specified.

What more did you want?

You didn't care about "answering your question" anyway, you just wanted to let off a stink bomb and hopefully have people wailing Ohhhh woe is me, no it can't be true, i'm so shattered - oh, I have the vapors... Gore... big oil... I think I may faint!
