There are so many parallels and metaphors from Cheney's hunting incident to the broader Policies of the Bush Administration. Two keep coming to my mind that I haven't heard talked about much.
The first is Cheney's initial failure to communicate the story and handle it appropriately is JUST LIKE BUSH'S RESPONSE as he sat in the classroom reading "My Pet Goat" while America was UNDER ATTACK. These two "men" FAIL EQUALLY IN THE ONE KEY ELEMENT THAT A Pres/V.P. TEAM NEED: LEADERSHIP.
The second parallel is Cheney's FAILURE to address the nation on what happened. It is almost like he DOES NOT KNOW WHAT TO SAY OR DO. And just today, FOUR DAYS AFTER THE DISASTER, he's doing a taped, CANNED, interview with Brit Hume on Fox. This is JUST LIKE BUSH'S RESPONSE TO THE KATRINA DISASTER. At first, it reduce the perception of the disaster by saying "it was no big deal, happens all the time, pellet guns and bb's." But FOUR DAYS LATER, the victim is dying (like people dying on rooftops, on the street and in the dome), Cheney is FINALLY, POLITICALLY FORCED OF COURSE, TO ADDRESS THE NATION. These two "men" FAIL EQUALLY IN ANOTHER KEY ELEMENT THAT A Pres/V.P. TEAM NEED: RESPONSIBILITY
Bush and Cheney ARE PROVEN FAILURES IN LEADERSHIP AND RESPONSIBILITY and ought to be impeached based solely on CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE AND DERELICTION OF DUTY.
