Secret services say Iran is trying to assemble a nuclear missile
Secret services say Iran is trying to assemble a nuclear missile

Document seen by Guardian details web of front companies and middlemen

Ian Cobain and Ian Traynor
Wednesday January 4, 2006
The Guardian

The Iranian government has been successfully scouring Europe for the sophisticated equipment needed to develop a nuclear bomb, according to the latest western intelligence assessment of the country's weapons programmes.
Scientists in Tehran are also shopping for parts for a ballistic missile capable of reaching Europe, with "import requests and acquisitions ... registered almost daily", the report seen by the Guardian concludes.

The warning came as Iran raised the stakes in its dispute with the United States and the European Union yesterday by notifying the International Atomic Energy Authority that it intended to resume nuclear fuel research next week. Tehran has refused to rule out a return to attempts at uranium enrichment, the key to the development of a nuclear weapon.

1. Suppose those secret services got that info from Italy?
No way to trust any of these "scare" reports anymore.

2. I'll bet they bought yellow cake from Africa too
Oh wait that was Iraq, or... actually no, it wasn't. Oh well they have a lot of oil so I guess whatever we do is OK if it keeps the price of gas below $4 per gallon.

3. Of course they are. Do you think for a moment that they are nice
people? If you do, you're seriously deluded.

Not that this means we should invade them. I'm not saying that. Nor am I saying that the average, everyday Iranians are not nice people, because they are.

But don't kid yourself about their government. Iran's government is full of raving lunatics who are more full of hate than you can possibly imagine.

6. But...Ollie had no problem with them...
selling them all those weapons, and padding the price to pay for the Contras war.

7. Proving my point perfectly, and I thank you for doing so. Hey, how come
Ollie and bush senior aren't in jail over that? It's bugged me for a long time that Clinton could get impeached for getting a BJ, but those clowns in the 1980s traded with our sworn enemy - which, last time I checked, was the definition of the word treason?

Just wondering.

9. Actually...I am now fascinated by that time ...
read everything I can find on it. In the safe bubble of reading history my mind absorbs sans emotion. Then, when reading current issues the correlations astound me.

11. Be happy you are just reading about it, because living through it was
not a whole bunch of fun, trust me. It was agonizing to see the traitors not only walk, but prosper (such as getting elected President).

10. The raving lunatics are the ones NOT trying to acquire nuclear weapons...

...thanks to George Bush. Iran knows that the USA or someone else will be coming to get their natural resources some day if they are unable to protect them.

Saddam was down on his knees begging Bush not to invade Iraq and it did no good. Iran was watching all this very closely. I am afraid Iran is not going to make that same mistake Saddam did.

Someone may get control of Iran's natural resources some day but it isn't going to be no cakewalk. Its going to be a costly adventure to pull off. Very costly.

8. Is this the "darn good intelligence" that will be disputed later?
Come on!!!!

If anyone in the world buys this shit---and SHIT is what it is---then our species
deserves what is coming to it.

I am so sick of this!!!!!

Wake the fuck up, world!!!!!

Note: I never swear, but I just can't take much
more of this. After reading the post in the "Greatest"
section about the elderly neighbor moving back to
Germany--I want to spit nails. Scared. For me
and my small children.
