how the vp handled the press, how much he had to drink, whether he was screwing around, etc., Congress and the Dems have been screwing us. The Patriot Act appears to be a done deal. There won't be an investigation into the NSA domestic spying.They've decided not to fight the budget. Instead of focusing on those critical issues, they're hollering about the sale of port facilities to an Islamic country- something I view as somewhat of a faux issue.

I've often defended dems, even as I've been disappointed by them. I don't know how to do that now. They appear to be so deeply immersed in elective politics that they've abdicated any principled opposition. This has been a particularly bad week. I'm ashamed of my party.

they won't fight for ANYTHING . . . not the stature of the U.S. in the international community, not the pursuit of how we got into an illegal war, not the assault on civil rights, civil liberties, and privacy, not corporate desecration of the environment, not the poor and the disadvantaged, nothing . . .

there is NO opposition party in Washington . . . and with the exception of a very few, there are NO representatives of the people in either the House or the Senate . . . why work for and/or contribute to Democratic candidates if all they're going to do is enable the BushCo agenda that's destroying America? . . .

I'm no longer discouraged -- I'm thoroughly disgusted . . . if this is how Democrats want to "lead", then let's just cede control of everything to BushCo until it gets so bad that people either rise up in revolution or are thoroughly subjugated and/or destroyed by a fascist dictatorship . . .
